Kittles Key Shop is the place the other locksmiths call when they have a question about car keys.

Do not think that only the dealers can make these types of keys.

Common Car Key/Lock Problems

Ford Focus - These locks are notorious for going bad and not allowing you to turn the key to on.  We can replace the ignition lock with a new style lock that will not fail.  You can go online and Google the following words"  ford focus lock lawsuit.  You will get pages of text regarding this situation.  If you have one that is acting up, contact us before you get stuck out on the road.

Chrysler Products 98+ - There is a known problem with these locks sticking and not allowing the key to turn on.  The locks give you a warning that they are going bad by making you jiggle the key to get it to turn.  Eventually it will get so bad that you cannot get it to turn on.  We wrote an article about this problem and published it to the locksmith industry.  There is a simple fix for this and we rebuild the lock and correct the original problem for about $50.  We guarantee the lock not to fail again for as long as you own the car.  Call us for more details.

GM VATS Locks - These locks have fine wires going to the contacts inside the lock housing.  Eventually these wires break and the car will not start.  You can identify these locks by looking at the key.  There is a small black rectangular piece of plastic with a metal contact in it located on the blade of the key.  If you are having a problem with one of these ignition locks, give us a call and we can offer you solutions for this problem.
